Mom's Last Laugh - Heart Touching Story

Consumed by my loss, I didn’t notice the hardness of the pew where I sat. I was at the funeral of my dearest friend - my mother. She finally had lost her long battle with cancer. The hurt was so intense, I found it hard to breathe at times.

Always supportive, mother clapped loudest at my school plays, held a box of tissues while listening to my first heartbreak, comforted me at my father’s death, encouraged me in college, and prayed for me my entire life.

When mother’s illness was diagnosed, my sister had a new baby and my brother had recently married his childhood sweetheart, so it fell on me, the 27-year-old middle child without entanglements, to take care of her. I counted it an honor.

“What now, Lord?” I asked sitting in church. My life stretched out before meas an empty abyss. My brother sat stoically with his face toward the cross while clutching his wife’s hand.

My sister sat slumped against her husband’s shoulder, his arms around her as she cradled their child. All so deeply grieving, no one noticed I sat alone. My place had been with our mother, preparing her meals, helping her walk, taking her to the doctor, seeing to her medication, reading the Bible together. Now she was with the Lord. My work was finished and I was alone.

I heard a door open and slam shut at the back of the church. Quick footsteps hurried along the carpeted floor. An exasperated young man looked around briefly and then sat next to me. He folded his hands and placed them on his lap. His eyes were brimming with tears.

He began to sniffle. ”I’m late,” he explained, though no explanation was necessary. After several eulogies, he leaned over and commented, “Why do they keep calling Mary by the name of ‘Margaret’?”

“Oh” “Because that was her name, Margaret. Never Mary. No one called her ‘Mary,’ I whispered. I wondered why this person couldn’t have sat on the other side of the church. He interrupted my grieving with his tears and fidgeting. Who was this stranger anyway?

“No, that isn’t correct,” he insisted, as several people glanced over at us whispering, “Her name is Mary, Mary Peters.”

“That isn’t who this is, I replied..”

“Isn’t this the Lutheran church?”

“No, the Lutheran church is across the street.”

“I believe you’re at the wrong funeral, Sir.”

The solemnness of the occasion mixed with the realization of the man’s mistake bubbled up inside me and came out as laughter.

I cupped my hands over my face, hoping it would be interpreted as sobs.

The creaking pew gave me away. Sharp looks from other mourners only made the situation seem more hilarious. I peeked at the bewildered, misguided man seated beside me.He was laughing, too, as he glanced around, deciding it was too late for an uneventful exit.

I imagined mother laughing.

At the final “Amen,” we darted out a door and into the parking lot. “I do believe we’ll be the talk of the town,” he smiled. He said his name was Rick and since he had missed his aunt’s funeral, asked me out for a cup of coffee.

That afternoon began a lifelong journey for me with this man who attended the wrong funeral, but was in the right place.

A year after our meeting, we were married at a country church where he was the assistant pastor. This time we both arrived at the same church, right on time. In my time of sorrow, God gave me laughter. In place of loneliness, God gave me love. This past June we celebrated our twenty-second wedding anniversary. Whenever anyone asks us how we met, Rick tells them, “Her mother and my Aunt Mary introduced us, and it’s truly a match made in heaven.”

  • A Beautiful Heart - Touching Story

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley.

A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart.

Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces missing.

The people stared. How can he say his heart is more beautiful?? they thought. The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears."

"Yes," said the old man, "Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared.

Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges - giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands.

The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.

The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man's heart flowed into his. They embraced and walked away side by side.

  • Love Your Parents.. Heart Touching Story

An 80 year old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45 years old highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window.

The Father asked his Son, "What is this?" The Son replied "It is a crow". After a few minutes, the Father asked his Son the 2nd time, "What is this?" The Son said "Father, I have just now told you "It's a crow". After a little while, the old Father again asked his Son the 3rd time, What is this?" At this time some ex-pression of irritation was felt in the Son's tone when he said to his Father with a rebuff. "It's a crow, a crow".A little after, the Father again asked his Son t he 4th time, "What is

This time the Son shouted at his Father, "Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times 'IT IS A CROW'. Are you not able to understand this?"

A little later the Father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained since his Son was born. On opening a page, he asked his Son to read that page. When the son read it, the following words were written in the diary :-

"Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My Son asked me 23 times what it was, and I replied to him all 23 times that it was a Crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question again and again for 23 times. I did not at all feel irritated I rather felt affection for my innocent child".

While the little child asked him 23 times "What is this", the Father had felt no irritation in replying to the same question all 23 times and when today the Father asked his Son the same question just 4 times, the Son felt irritated and annoyed.

If your parents attain old age, do not repulse them or look at them as a burden, but speak to them a gracious word, be cool, obedient, humble and kind to them. Be considerate to your parents. From today say this aloud, "I want to see my parents happy forever. They have cared for me ever since I was a little child. They have always showered their selfless love on me.

They crossed all mountains and valleys without seeing the storm and heat to make me a person presentable in the society today". Say a prayer to God, "I will serve my old parents in the BEST way. I will say all good and kind words to my dear parents, no matter how they behave.

'A Leader Should Know How to Manage Failure'
IndiaKnowledge@ Wharton : Could you give an example, from your own experience, of how leaders should manage failure?

Kalam: Let me tell you about my experience. In 1973 I became the project director of India's satellite launch vehicle program, commonly called the SLV-3. Our goal was to put India's "Rohini" satellite into orbit by 1980. I was given funds and human resources -- but was told clearly that by 1980 we had to launch the satellite into space. Thousands of people worked together in scientific and technical teams towards that goal.

By 1979 -- I think the month was August -- we thought we were ready. As the project director, I went to the control center for the launch. At four minutes before the satellite launch, the computer began to go through the checklist of items that needed to be checked. One minute later, the computer program put the launch on hold; the display showed that some control components were not in order. My experts -- I had four or five of them with me -- told me not to worry; they had done their calculations and there was enough reserve fuel. So I bypassed the computer, switched to manual mode, and launched the rocket. In the first stage, everything worked fine. In the second stage, a problem developed. Instead of the satellite going into orbit, the whole rocket system plunged into the Bay of Bengal. It was a big failure.

That day, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization, Prof. Satish Dhawan, had called a press conference. The launch was at 7:00 am, and the press conference -- where journalists from around the world were present -- was at 7:45 am at ISRO's satellite launch range in Sriharikota [in Andhra Pradesh in southern India]. Prof. Dhawan, the leader of the organization, conducted the press conference himself. He took responsibility for the failure -- he said that the team had worked very hard, but that it needed more technological support. He assured the media that in another year, the team would definitely succeed. Now, I was the project director, and it was my failure, but instead, he took responsibility for the failure as chairman of the organization.

The next year, in July 1980, we tried again to launch the satellite -- and this time we succeeded. The whole nation was jubilant. Again, there was a press conference. Prof. Dhawan called me aside and told me, "You conduct the press conference today."

I learned a very important lesson that day. When failure occurred, the leader of the organization owned that failure. When success came, he gave it to his team. The best management lesson I have learned did not come to me from reading a book; it came from that experience.

    What a wonderful leader!

  • Heart Touching Story

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water.

She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk He drank it slowly, and then asked,  "How much do I owe you?" "You don't owe me anything," she replied "Mother has taught us never to accept payment for a kindness."
He said...  "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt; stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Years later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation.

When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her.

He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval.

He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for
it all. Finally, she looked, and something caught her attention on the side as she read these words...... " Paid in full with one glass of milk."  (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, GOD, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands."

  • Great Sentimental Heart Touching Moral Story

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: “How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?”

The surgeon said, “I’m sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn’t make it.”

Sally said, “Why do little children get cancer? Doesn’t God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?”

The surgeon asked, “Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he’s transported to the university.”

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

“Would you like a lock of his hair?” the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy’s hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, “It was Jimmy’s idea to donate his body to the university for study. He said it might help somebody else. “I said no at first, but Jimmy said, ‘Mom, I won’t be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.” She went on, “My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.”

Sally walked out of Children’s mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy’s belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy’s belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son’s room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

    “Dear Mom,
I know you’re going to miss me; but don’t think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just ’cause I’m not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won’t be so lonely, that’s okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn’t like the same things us boys do. You’ll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know. Don’t be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn’t look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God’s knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That’s when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn’t allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him ‘Where was He when I needed him?’ “God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I’ve written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn’t that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I’m, sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don’t hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I’m glad because I couldn’t stand that pain anymore and God couldn’t stand to see me hurt so much, either. That’s when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

Signed with Love from: God, Jesus & Me.”

  • Internet Love

A young girl. 13 years old always wanted love in her life and never knew how to get it. Oh how she wanted to be loved and wanted to love. One day she went in a chat room not looking for a special relationship with someone, just felt like talking. She met a nice young man, told her he was 19 and he was nice to her and she liked him. They exchanged e-mails and kept in contact. Every time the girl would talk to him and have fun, she only thought as him as a good friend but, one day he started telling her how he really felt about her.
By this time it had been three months they had been talking. She started realizing she had some feelings for him to but, she didn't want to think this was a sex offender or anything so she just told him what she really felt about him and why she wasn't opening up to him. He understood but, was sad. He said he never wanted to hurt her. After a while they stopped talking and she grew sad because she missed him. He said he was caught up with college and work and couldn't be on much. he came back on and she told him that she loved him, she just knew her feelings for him then.
They had a relationship over the internet for a while, they were so happy. Then he stopped talking to her again for a while. He came back on and told her he was gone cuz of school and work again. She understood and was just happy he was back. He said he had to go for a little bit but wanted her to talk to his roommate and become friends with him. So she agreed. They talked and as she talked to him, he seemed so much like her love, he talked the same way and made her feel good the same way. Then she started thinking maybe it was a joke and tat she was talking to her love the whole time and he was just being mean. She was confused. The boy started saying he really liked her and that he thought he loved her. She grew scared now. Her love came back on and started asking if she liked his roommate. She told him he was a very nice boy. He started asking if she would want to date them both, he and his roommate. She started thinking he didn't love her as he led on and didn't care if she was with another man. She told that to him and said she was sad. he told her he loved her so much but, wasn't sure if he was who she wanted.
After that they forgot about the whole thing until the girl got an offline message from the boy and it was saying he was going to take her away from her love because he loved her so much. She told her love and he got upset with his roommate. After that the boy was told he could only be a friend to the girl, he didn't like it but, he wanted to talk to her so he accepted the agreement. They all stopped talking because the boys computers got a virus and the girl never knew that. She grew lonely and thought her love would never talk to her again. So, she sent him a message saying she didn't want to be with him anymore.
The next week while she was on the computer the boy came on and told the girl that her love had been arrested for attempting to have sex with a minor. By this time the girl had already turned 14 years of age. She was so upset. She still loved him. The boy was nice and talked to her and made her feel better. She started realizing the boy wasn't such a bad guy. She grew to realize the man that she loved had lied to her. He never loved her and was just playing a mean joke. Now the boy says he loves the girl and she likes him a lot now but is afraid the same incident will happen again. The boy knows this and accepts it and will wait for her till she knows how she feels or even wants him. She found a better man.
After a couple years she met this boy in person. She never told him how she felt they just talked for a few years. She finally thought it was appropriate at the time they met that she told him she loved him. She did that and he was happy, he thought she never cared for him. But, he was wrong. Then they went out together for a year and they got married and had a baby girl. They were married for 5 years when the girl grew ill while she was pregnant with her second child. She gave birth to a baby boy and died a week after his birth. The baby boy was born sick and died the day after the mother.

This was a girl who was truly loved by her husband and got as she wished. This man was her miracle and she had now been loved and loved too.

The boy raised his daughter, she was raped at age 16 by the man her mother onced loved. The was sent to prison. The daughter gave birth to a baby boy and raised it. The father loved his wife so much that his daughter looked so much like her that he couldn't stand it anymore. He thought he would go crazy and think his daughter is his wife and do horrible things to her that wouldn't be horrible if it was his wife. He killed himself thinking he would be with his wife. But, he never found her. For he had been put in another place.

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the Doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. Still groggy from surgery, her husband David held her hand as they braced themselves for the latest news. That afternoon of March 10,1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24 weeks pregnant, to Danae Lu Blessing. At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound and nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature. Still, the doctor’s soft words dropped like bombs. I don’t think she’s going to make it, he said, as kindly as he could.

“There’s only a 10 percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one.” Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Danae would likely face if she survived. She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on. “No! No!” was all Diana could say. She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four. Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away.

Through the dark hours of morning as Danae held onto life by the thinnest thread, Diana slipped in and out of sleep, growing more and more determined that their tiny daughter would live, and live to be a healthy, happy young girl. But David, fully awake and listening to additional dire details of their daughter’s chances of ever leaving the hospital alive, much less healthy, knew he must confront his wife with the inevitable.

David walked in and said that we needed to talk about making funeral arrangements. Diana remembers, ‘I felt so bad for him because he was doing everything, trying to include me in what was going on, but I just wouldn’t listen, I couldn’t listen. I said, “No, that is not going to happen, no way! I don’t care what the doctors say; Danae is not going to die! One day she will be just fine, and she will be coming home with us!”

As if willed to live by Diana’s determination, Danae clung to life hour after hour, with the help of every medical machine and marvel her miniature body could endure. But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana. Because Danae’s under-developed nervous system was essentially raw, the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so they couldn’t even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love. All they could do, as Danae struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl. There was never a moment when Danae suddenly grew stronger.

But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here and an ounce of strength there. At last, when Danae turned two months old, her parents were able to hold her in their arms for the very first time. And two months later-though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero. Danae went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.

Today, five years later, Danae is a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life. She shows no signs, what so ever, of any mental or physical impairment. Simply, she is everything a little girl can be and more-but that happy ending is far from the end of her story.

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving, Texas, Danae was sitting in her mother’s lap in the bleachers of a local ballpark where her brother Dustin’s baseball team was practicing. As always, Danae was chattering non-stop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent. Hugging her arms across her chest, Danae asked, “Do you smell that?” Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied, “Yes, it smells like rain.” Danae closed her eyes
and again asked, “Do you smell that?” Once again, her mother replied, “Yes, I think we’re about to get wet, it smells like rain. Still caught in the moment, Danae shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced, “No, it smells like Him. It smells like God when youlay your head on His chest.”

Tears blurred Diana’s eyes as Danae then happily hopped down to play with the other children. Before the rains came, her daughter’s words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, all along. During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, God was holding Danae on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.

  • The Man without email

A jobless man applied for the position of “office boy” @Microsoft.

The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

“You are employed.” He said.” Give me your e-mail address and I’ll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.”

The man replied “But I don’t have a computer, neither an email.”

I’m sorry”, said the HR manager, “If you don’t have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.”

The man left with no hope at all. He didn’t know  what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg  tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital.

He repeated the Operation three times, and  returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this Way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US .

He started to plan his family’s future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, “I don’t have an email”. The broker answered curiously, “You don’t have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!!”

The man thought for a while and replied, “Yes, I’d be an office boy @Microsoft!”

    Moral of the story:

M1 – Internet is not the solution to your life.
M2 – If you don’t have internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.
M3 – If you received this message by email, g+, facebook then you are closer to being an office boy, than a millionaire. ………

His reply: "My king, if I had gone with you, I would have been sacrificed for you because I have no missing finger." Remember, everything God does is perfect, He is never wrong...

Aloe vera's soothing gel inside the thick, succulent leaves is an incredible natural skin care "product." But what about the rest of the body: are there benefits for your insides too? Actually there are some very powerful
benifits from the aloe vera plant. No one plant offers all the health benefits of the aloe vera plant.

~ Benefits Of ALOE VERA ~

    • Aloe vera is an antioxidant and cancer fighter, especially
    colon cancer

    • Reduces and stops inflammation, both internally and externally

    • Oxygenates blood and energizes cells, hydrates skin and repairs skin tissue

    • Aloe vera heals internal digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, acid reflux - cleanses the intestinal tract

    • Reduces risk factor for strokes and heart attacks by making "sticky" blood "unsticky," and boosts the oxidation of your blood, plus circulation

    • Alkalizes the body, helping to balance overly acidic dietary habits

    • Boosts cardiovascular performance and physical endurance

    • Stabilizes blood pressure and reduces triglycerides

    The Harvesting Process

When ready to harvest the gel from an aloe leaf, choose an outer leaf that is healthy and grows toward the bottom of the plant. To remove the leaf, cut it at an angle close to the plant's base. Plants that are too immature to harvest will not have leaves growing close to the ground.

Once you cut the leaf from the plant, place it upright in a container in a slightly tilted position. Let the leaf stay in that position for approximately 10 to 12 minutes, allowing the sap to drain from the leaf.

Place the aloe leaf on a flat surface such as a cutting board. Carefully cut off the tip of the leaf and the pointed rough edges on both sides using a very sharp knife. Make certain to cut both sides of the leaf all the way from top to bottom.

Separate the front and back of the leaf by slicing it lengthwise
    from the inside.

Scoop out both the slimy mucilage gel and the clear inner gel which appears more as a solid gel. For most leaves, a spoon works for scooping out the gel. If the leaf is very large, a butter knife may work best. When removing the gel, it is important to press down lightly but firmly, being careful not to remove any remaining sap.

    Storing the Aloe Vera Gel

Store the aloe gel in the refrigerator in a plastic container that is safe for food storage or a glass container. The best container choice is a dark green or brown glass jar, which helps to keep out light. Many people add a drop of vitamin E and a small amount of citric acid powder to prevent discoloration and make the aloe vera gel last longer. In place of citric acid powder, simply crush a vitamin C tablet into powder or use a drop of grapefruit seed extract

  • The Secret Of Happiness - Inspirational Story

A certain shopkeeper sent his son to learn about the secret of happiness from the wisest man in the world. The lad wandered through the desert for 40 days, and finally came upon a beautiful castle, high atop a mountain. It was there that the wise man lived.

Rather than finding a saintly man, though, our hero, on entering the main room of the castle, saw a hive of activity: tradesmen came and went, people were conversing in the corners, a small orchestra was playing soft music, and there was a table covered with platters of the most delicious food in that part of the world. The wise man conversed with everyone, and the boy had to wait for two hours before it was his turn to be given the man's attention.

The wise man listened attentively to the boy's explanation of why he had come, but told him that he didn't have time just then to explain the secret of happiness. He suggested that the boy look around the palace and return in two hours.

"Meanwhile, I want to ask you to do something", said the wise man, handing the boy a teaspoon that held two drops of oil. "As you wander around, carry this spoon with you without allowing the oil to spill".

The boy began climbing and descending the many stairways of the palace, keeping his eyes fixed on the spoon. After two hours, he returned to the room where the wise man was.

"Well", asked the wise man, "Did you see the Persian tapestries that are hanging in my dining hall? Did you see the garden that it took the master gardener ten years to create? Did you notice the beautiful parchments in my library?"

The boy was embarrassed, and confessed that he had observed nothing. His only concern had been not to spill the oil that the wise man had entrusted to him.

"Then go back and observe the marvels of my world", said the wise man. "You cannot trust a man if you don't know his house".

Relieved, the boy picked up the spoon and returned to his exploration of the palace, this time observing all of the works of art on the ceilings and the walls. He saw the gardens, the mountains all around him, the beauty of the flowers, and the taste with which everything had been selected. Upon returning to the wise man, he related in detail everything he had seen.

"But where are the drops of oil I entrusted to you?" asked the wise man. Looking down at the spoon he held, the boy saw that the oil was gone.

"Well, there is only one piece of advice I can give you", said the wisest of wise men. "The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon".

  • SALTY COFFEE - A Motivational Story

A young guy met a pretty girl at a party. She was so outstanding, this sent many guys chasing after her, while he being average, nobody paid him attention.

At the end of the party, he finally summoned courage to invite the girl to have coffee with him. She was surprised, but out of politeness, she promised. They both sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, waiting for coffee..

She kept on thinking, "Please, let it get over soon...let me go home...." she finally said. The coffee was brought and suddenly, he asked the waiter. "Would you please get me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee!" Everyone at the shop stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously, "Why this unusual habit?" He took a couple of sips and replied, "When I was still a little boy, I lived near the sea, I liked playing in the sea! I can still remember the taste of the sea..

This salty coffee...every time I drink it, I always think of my childhood days, think of my hometown... Oh no! I miss my hometown so much... I miss my parents who are still out there." While saying this, tears filled his eyes.

The pretty girl was deeply touched. A man who can tell out his homesickness, must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home. Pretty soon, she also started to speak, she spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really great date, also a beautiful beginning of their story.

This new pair continued to date. She got to discover that actually, he was a man who met all her expectations: he was tolerant, kind hearted, warm, caring. He was such a good man and had it not been for the salt in the coffee, she'd never have really known him!

The rest of the story was just like any other beautiful love story: they finally got married, and they lived a very happy married life. And sure! every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, just the way he liked it! After 40 years of marital bliss, he died after a short illness. One day, she found a letter he had left for her: "My dearest, Please forgive me, but I lied to you.. Only once.. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous, I asked for salt instead of sugar! I was too embarrassesd to admit it, so I just went ahead. I never thought that could bring about such a frank and intimate conversation between the two of us!

Later, I tried to tell you the truth so many times but was afraid you'd think I was a liar and never again believe me ... Now I'm dying, and am afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like salty coffee, as a matter of fact I hate it! What a strange bad taste.. But since you made it for me with so much love, I drank it all my life!

Please forgive me, darling.. for lying to you first in that Coffee Shop and then not telling you the truth everytime you made coffee for me! I am not lying now when I say, I couldn't have that coffee any other way! - still madly in love with you"

If anybody ask her: "How did that salted coffee taste?" "It's sweet." She always replied.

    1. Always learn to make the best of every situation. Also, be wise.
    2. A great disappointment might be a blessing in disguise, who knows.

  • Did Not Realize How Close They Were To Success When They Gave Up

On My Wedding Day, I Carried My Wife In My Arms. The Bridal Car Stopped In Front Of Our One-Room Flat.
My Buddies Insisted That I Carry Her Out Of The Car In My Arms. So I Carried Her Into Our Home.
She Was Then Plump And Shy. I Was A Strong And Happy Bridegroom.
This Was The Scene Of Ten Years Ago.

The Following Days Were As Simple As A Cup Of Pure Water: We Had A Kid, I Went Into Business And Tried To Make More Money.
When The Assets Were Steadily Increasing, The Affections Between Us Seemed To Ebb. She Was A Civil Servant.
Every Morning We Left Home Together And Got Home Almost At The Same Time. Our Kid Was Studying In A Boarding School.
Our Marriage Life Seemed To Be Enviably Happy. But The Calm Life Was More Likely To Be Affected By Unpredictable Changes.
Dew Came Into My Life. It Was A Sunny Day. I Stood On A Spacious Balcony.

Dew Hugged Me From Behind. My Heart Once Again Was Immersed In Her Stream Of Love. This Was The Apartment I Bought For Her.
Dew Said, You Are The Kind Of Man Who Best Draws Girls Eyeballs. Her Words Suddenly Reminded Me Of My Wife. When We Just Married,
My Wife Said, Men Like You, Once Successful, Will Be Very Attractive To Girls. Thinking Of This, I Became Somewhat Hesitant. I Knew I Had Betrayed My Wife.

But I Couldn't Help Doing So. I Moved Dew'S Hands Aside And Said, You Go To Select Some Furniture, O.K.? Ive Got Something To Do In The Company.
Obviously She Was Unhappy, Because I Had Promised Her To Go And See With Her. At The Moment, The Idea Of Divorce Became Clearer In My Mind Although
It Used To Be Something Impossible To Me. However, I Found It Rather Difficult To Tell My Wife About It. No Matter How Mildly I Mentioned It To Her,
She Would Be Deeply Hurt. Honestly, She Was A Good Wife.

Every Evening She Was Busy Preparing Dinner. I Was Sitting In Front Of The Tv. The Dinner Was Ready Soon. Then We Watched Tv Together. Or,
I Was Lounging Before The Computer, Visualizing Dews Body. This Was The Means Of My Entertainment.
One Day I Said To Her In A Slight Joking Way, Suppose We Divorce, What Will You Do? She Stared At Me For A Few Seconds Without A Word.
Apparently She Believed That Divorce Was Something Too Far Away From Her. I Couldn't Imagine How She Would React Once She Got To Know I Was Serious.

When My Wife Went To My Office, Dew Had Just Stepped Out. Almost All The Staff Looked At My Wife With A Sympathetic Eye And Tried To Hide Something While Talking With Her.
She Seemed To Have Got Some Hint. She Gently Smiled At My Subordinates. But I Read Some Hurt In Her Eyes.

Once Again, Dew Said To Me, He Ning, Divorce Her, O.K.? Then We Live Together. I Nodded. I Knew I Could Not Hesitate Any More. When My Wife Served The Last Dish,
I Held Her Hand. I'Ve Got Something To Tell You, I Said. She Sat Down And Ate Quietly. Again I Observed The Hurt In Her Eyes. Suddenly I Didn't Know How To My Mouth.
But I Had To Let Her Know What I Was Thinking. I Want To Divorce. I Raised A Serious Topic Calmly. She Didn't Seem To Be Much Annoyed By My Words, Instead She Asked Me Softly, Why? I'M Serious.

I Avoided Her Question. This So-Called Answer Turned Her Angry. She Threw Away The Chopsticks And Shouted At Me, You Are Not A Man! At That Night,
We Didn't Talk To Each Other. She Was Weeping. I Knew She Wanted To Find Out What Had Happened To Our Marriage. But I Could Hardly Give Her A Satisfactory Answer,
Because My Heart Had Gone To Dew. With A Deep Sense Of Guilt, I Drafted A Divorce Agreement Which Stated That She Could Own Our House, Our Car, And 30% Stake Of My Company.
She Glanced At It And Then Tore It Into Pieces. I Felt A Pain In My Heart.

The Woman Who Had Been Living Ten Years With Me Would Become A Stranger One Day. But I Could Not Take Back What I Had Said. Finally She Cried Loudly In Front Of Me,
Which Was What I Had Expected To See. To Me Her Cry Was Actually A Kind Of Release. The Idea Of Divorce Which Had Stressed Me For Several Weeks Seemed To Be Firmer And Clearer.

A Late Night, I Came Back Home After Entertaining My Clients. I Saw Her Writing Something At The Table. I Fell Asleep Fast. When I Woke Up, I Found She Was Still There.
I Turned Over And Was Asleep Again. She Brought Up Her Divorce Conditions: She Didn't Want Anything From Me, But I Was Supposed To Give Her One Month'sTime Before Divorce,
And In The Month'S Time We Must Live As Normal Life As Possible. Her Reason Was Simple: Our Son Would Finish His Summer Vacation A Month Later And
She Didn't Want Him To See Our Marriage Was Broken. She Passed Me The Agreement She Drafted, And Then Asked Me, He Ning,
Do You Still Remember How I Entered Our Bridal Room On The Wedding Day ? This Question Suddenly Brought Back All Those Wonderful Memories To Me.
I Nodded And Said, I Remember.

You Carried Me In Your Arms, She Continued, So, I Have A Requirement, That Is, You Carry Me Out In Your Arms On The Day When We Divorce.
From Now To The End Of This Month, You Must Carry Me Out From The Bedroom To The Door Every Morning. I Accepted With A Smile.
I Knew She Missed Those Sweet Days And Wished To End Her Marriage With A Romantic Form. I Told Dew About My Wife's Divorce Conditions.
She Laughed Loudly And Thought It Was Absurd. No Matter What Tricks She Does, She Has To Face The Result Of Divorce, She Said Scornfully.
Her Words More Or Less Made Me Feel Uncomfortable.

My Wife And I Hadn't Had Any Body Contact Since My Divorce Intention Was Explicitly Expressed. We Even Treated Each Other As A Stranger.
So When I Carried Her Out For The First Day, We Both Appeared Clumsy. Our Son Clapped Behind Us, Daddy Is Holding Mummy In His Arms.
His Words Brought Me A Sense Of Pain. From The Bedroom To The Sitting Room, Then To The Door, I Walked Over Ten Meters With Her In My Arms.
She Closed Her Eyes And Said Softly, Let Us Start From Today, Don't Tell Our Son. I Nodded, Feeling Somewhat Upset. I Put Her Down Outside The Door.
She Went To Wait For Bus, I Drove To Office.

On The Second Day, Both Of Us Acted Much More Easily. She Leaned On My Chest. We Were So Close That I Could Smell The Fragrance Of Her Blouse.
I Realized That I Hadn't Looked At This Intimate Woman Carefully For A Long Time. I Found She Was Not Young Any More. There Were Some Fine Wrinkles On Her Face.
On The Third Day, She Whispered To Me, The Outside Garden Is Being Demolished. Be Careful When You Pass There. On The Fourth Day, When I Lifted Her Up,
I Seemed To Feel That We Were Still An Intimate Couple And I Was Holding My Sweetheart In My Arms. The Visualization Of Dew Became Vaguer.

On The Fifth And Sixth Day, She Kept Reminding Me Something, Such As, Where She Put The Ironed Shirts, I Should Be Careful While Cooking, Etc.
I Nodded. The Sense Of Intimacy Was Even Stronger. I Didn't Tell Dew About This. I Felt It Was Easier To Carry Her. Perhaps The Everyday Workout Made Me Stronger.
I Said To Her, It Seems Not Difficult To Carry You Now. She Was Picking Her Dresses. I Was Waiting To Carry Her Out. She Tried And Tried A Few But Could Not Find A Suitable One.
Then She Sighed, All My Dresses Have Grown Fatter. I Smiled. But I Suddenly Realized That It Was Because She Was Thinner That I Could Carry Her More Easily,
Not Because I Was Stronger. I Knew She Had Buried All The Bitterness In Her Heart. Again, I Felt A Sense Of Pain. Subconsciously I Reached Out A Hand To Touch Her Head.
Our Son Came In At The Moment. Dad, It's Time To Carry Mum Out, He Said. To Him, Seeing His Father Carrying His Mother Out Had Been An Essential Part Of His Life.
She Gestured Our Son To Come Closer And Hugged Him Tightly.

I Turned My Face Because I Was Afraid I Would Change My Mind At The Last Minute. I Held Her In My Arms, Walking From The Bedroom, Through The Sitting Room,
To The Hallway. Her Hand Surrounded My Neck Softly And Naturally. I Held Her Body Tightly, As If We Came Back To Our Wedding Day. But Her Much Lighter Weight Made Me Sad.
On The Last Day, When I Held Her In My Arms I Could Hardly Move A Step. Our Son Had Gone To School. She Said, Actually I Hope You Will Hold Me In Your Arms Until We Are Old.

I Held Her Tightly And Said, Both You And I Didn't Notice That Our Life Was Lacking Of Such Intimacy. I Jumped Out Of The Car Swiftly Without Locking The Door.
I Was Afraid Any Delay Would Make Me Change My Decision. I Walked Upstairs. Dew Opened The Door. I Said To Her, Sorry, Dew, I Won't Divorce. I'M Serious.
She Looked At Me, Astonished. Then She Touched My Forehead. You Got No Fever. She Said. I Moved Her Hand Off My Head. Sorry, Dew, I Said, I Can Only Say Sorry To You, I Won't Divorce.

My Marriage Life Was Boring Probably Because She And I Didn't Value The Details Of Life, Not Because We Didn't Love Each Other Any More.
Now I Understand That Since I Carried Her Into The Home, She Gave Birth To Our Child, I Am Supposed To Hold Her Until I Am Old. So I Have To Say Sorry To You.
Dew Seemed To Suddenly Wake Up. She Gave Me A Loud Slap And Then Slammed The Door And Burst Into Cry. I Walked Downstairs And Drove To The Office.
When I Passed The Floral Shop On The Way, I Ordered A Bouquet For My Wife Which Was Her Favorite. The Salesgirl Asked Me To Write The Greeting Words On The Card.
I Smiled And Wrote, " I'Ll Carry You Out Every Morning Until We Are Old..."

That Evening I Arrived Home,Flowers In My Hands, A Smile On My Face, I Run Up Stairs, Only To Find My Wife In The Bed - Dead.
My Wife Had Beenfighting Cancer For Months And I Was So Busy With Jane To Even Notice.

In Case We Push Through With The Divorce.

  • 100$ - One Hundred Dollors

One night, a man came home from work late, tired and irritated only to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door. After a brief welcome, a short conversation came up...

SON: "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"

    DAD: "sure, what is it?"
SON: "Daddy, how much, precisely do you make in an hour?"
DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?"
SON: "I just want to know.
Please daddy, just tell me, how much you make an hour?"
DAD: "If you must know, I make $100 an hour. Are you now okay?"
SON: "Oh! (With his head facing down). "Daddy, may I please borrow $50?"
    The father was furious.
DAD: "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight into your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday and all you can come up with is this your stupid childish behavior of yours."

The little boy quietly went to his
room and shut the door behind him. The man sat down and started
to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or thereabout, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $ 50 and he really doesn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

    DAD: "Are you asleep, son?"

    SON: "No daddy, I'm awake".
DAD: "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $50 you asked for."  The little boy sat straight up, smiling.
SON: "Oh, thank you daddy!" Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
DAD: "Why do you want more money if you already have some?"
SON: "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do. "Daddy, I have $100 now. Can I  buy an hour of your time? Please come home early  tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son,
and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $100 worth of your time with someone you love? If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family and friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

  • Learning to Get Back Up

Bringing a giraffe into the world is a tall order. A baby giraffe falls 10 feet from its mother's womb and usually lands on its back. Within seconds it rolls over and tucks its legs under its body. From this position it considers the world for the first time and shakes off the last vestiges of the birthing fluid from its eyes and ears. Then the mother giraffe rudely introduces its offspring to the reality of life.

In his book, A View from the Zoo, Gary Richmond describes how a newborn giraffe learns its first lesson

The mother giraffe lowers her head long enough to take a quick look. Then she positions herself directly over her calf. She waits for about a minute, and then she does the most unreasonable thing. She swings her long, pendulous leg outward and kicks her baby, so that it is sent sprawling head over heels.

When it doesn't get up, the violent process is repeated over and over again. The struggle to rise is momentous. As the baby calf grows tired, the mother kicks it again to stimulate its efforts. Finally, the calf stands for the first time on its wobbly legs.

Then the mother giraffe does the most remarkable thing. She kicks it off its feet again. Why? She wants it to remember how it got up. In the wild, baby giraffes must be able to get up as quickly as possible to stay with the herd, where there is safety. Lions, hyenas, leopards, and wild hunting dogs all enjoy young giraffes, and they'd get it too, if the mother didn't teach her calf to get up quickly and get with it.

The late Irving Stone understood this. He spent a lifetime studying greatness, writing novelized biographies of such men as Michelangelo, Vincent van Gogh, Sigmund Freud, and Charles Darwin.

Stone was once asked if he had found a thread that runs through the lives of all these exceptional people. He said, "I write about people who sometime in their life have a vision or dream of something that should be accomplished and they go to work.

"They are beaten over the head, knocked down, vilified, and for years they get nowhere. But every time they're knocked down they stand up. You cannot destroy these people. And at the end of their lives they've accomplished some modest part of what they set out to do."

  • The Wealth, The Success And The Love

A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said, "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?" they asked. "No," she said, "he's out." "Then we cannot come in," they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.

"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in. "We do not go into a house together," they replied. "Why is that?" she wanted to know. One of the old men explained, "His name is Wealth," said pointing to one of his friends, and said, pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed.

"How nice!" he said. "since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come in and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law was listening from another corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!" "Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife." Go out and invite Love to be our guest." The woman went out and asked the three old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest." Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and followed him. Surprised, the woman asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: " If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would have stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever he goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is Wealth and Success!!!"

"Where there is pain, we wish you peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubting, we wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through it. Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, we wish you understanding, patience, and renewed strength. Where there is fear, we wish you love, and courage."

An unemployed graduate woke up one morning and checked his pocket. All he had left was $10. He decided to use it to buy food and then wait for death as he was too proud to go begging.. He was frustrated as he could find no job, and nobody was ready to help him.

He bought food and as he sat down to eat, an old man and two little children came along and asked him to help them with food as they had not eaten for almost a week. He looked at them. They were so lean that he could see their bones coming out. Their eyes had gone into the socket. With the last bit of compassion he had, he gave them the food. The old man and children prayed that God would bless and prosper him and then gave him a very old coin. The young graduate said to them 'you need the prayer more than I do'.

With no money, no job, no food, the young graduate went under the bridge to rest and wait for death. As he was about to sleep, he saw an old newspaper on the ground. He picked it up, and suddenly he saw an advertisement for people with old coins to come to a certain address.

He decided to go there with the old coin the old man gave him. On getting to the place, he gave the proprietor the coin. The proprietor screamed, brought out a big book and showed the young graduate a photograph. This same old coin was worth 3 million dollars. The young graduate was overjoyed as the proprietor gave him a bank draft for 3 million dollars within an hour. He collected the Bank Draft and went in search of the old man and little children. By the time he got to where he left them eating, they had gone.

He asked the owner of the canteen if he knew them. He said no but they left a note for you. He quickly opened the note thinking it would lead him to find them. This is what the note said: 'You gave us your all and we have rewarded you back with the coin,' signed The heavenly hosts..

Be kind to people... Learn to be hospitable, for you may not know when you will entertain angels.
